Cord Cutting is becoming a hot topic in the healing realms, along with shadow work/healing. I believe these two entities or versions of healing are in fact, intertwined. Effective shadow healing would entail cosmic cord cutting. I'd like to define cosmic cords from my personal experience with this topic. Cords are lines connecting one thing to another. Cosmic cords are energetic connections to others, that hold on more than the normal connections we have outgrown. A Cosmic cord does not cut from a normal "release" ceremony, intention, or a ritual with the moon. A cosmic cord remains connected because the exchange of energy is still [often] tapped into, and the individual seeking the release is often feeling depleted in some shape or form, and follows an energy signature to specific person or experience this cosmic cord is connected. When attempted to just "release" from these types of connections, we are met with confusion and almost invigorate the energy and surge it to whom we are connected. How do you cut these cosmic cords?
My personal experience cutting cosmic cords was rather unique. As instructed by my spiritual mentor, I was encouraged to work with a specific moon phase, the waning gibbous moon [the phase right after the full moon]. This phase is honoring the abundance poured in during the full moon, and allows for some release work naturally to make room for the future abundances to flow in. This moon phase also naturally allots for you to let go, with cosmic energy on your side. Imagine trying to release and it's energetically manifestation time, or receiving the abundances? Would you like to manifest a stronger cord, or MORE cord energy? I think not. Cosmic cord cutting at this time, during the waning gibbous moon phase, is best. This allows you to also tune into the zodiac sign the moon is in at that time, and focus in on what that sign represents for you in the need of cutting cords.
When in this ceremony, you have to visualize the connection, observing it, listening to the messages, and then severing the connection with gratitude, grace and boundaries. For this ceremony, I personally suggest: rose quartz [for self love], white candle, altar water, plant, smudge/incense and a journal. Being in a quiet, sacred space where you can be uninterrupted [and particularly not in your bed]. Beginning with meditation and intention setting, I like to provide self healing intentional energy [or reiki] to my chakra centers within my body, adding to their resilient radiance for this energetic call back. Finding balance and awakening within your energy centers:
[womban] place your hands on your womb and begin to call back your energy- patiently. Visualize these cords being cut, notice the sensations and observations that flow during this process. Write down what you feel is important that came through during this ceremony. Repeat this with the waning gibbous x3 sessions [over 3 months]. Log in each, and after the third, burn your writings. Understand that work with the moon takes time, and you will not see results as quickly as desired. You cannot control this cutting process- because it goes beyond JUST cutting the cords.
[men] create the lotus mudra with your hands [bridge of your palms touch, pinky and thumb connected to opposite hand with 2-4 fingers open]. Sitting in easy pose [crisscross], hold this lotus past your penis and visualize these cords being cut, noticing the sensations and observations that flow during this process. Write down what you feel is important that came through during this ceremony. Repeat this with the waning gibbous x3 sessions [over 3 months]. Log in each, and after the third, burn your writings. Understand that work with the moon takes time, and you will not see results as quickly as desired. You cannot control this cutting process- because it goes beyond JUST cutting the cords.
In the interim [the 3 months], you may wonder how effective your ceremony was. Let me provide some time frames for you: the cord cutting ceremonies I participated in spring of 2019, I have finally, December 2020, have closed the casket on these cords. I pray that you find the answers and understanding from the connections during this healing time. But take this cut cord visualization: an umbilical cord. There are two arteries that bring the baby nourishment and one that takes the waste away. I had the realization this week that that piece of the cord attached to me, has to ALSO die off.
